Pump Aid

Thank you for taking an interest in taking part in this daredevil challenge and raising funds for Pump Aid! Your donations will help transform the lives of some of the most vulnerable people in the world.

In the UK we take clean water for granted, but in sub-Saharan Africa, it is a luxury many people still do not have. 1 in 5 Malawians have to travel long distances to visit contaminated open wells, risking their life every day. Pump Aid is a small INGO focused on improving the lives of some of the most impoverished communities in the world by providing two of lives’ basic needs; access to safe water and a decent toilet.,

_Sheena Duggal 2Pump Aid work with communities that are too small or too remote to be good candidates for more costly and complex water technologies provided by larger NGOs. Our main technology is a rope and washer pump, which is low cost, easily maintained sustainable technology. To ensure long term change, we work closely with communities and encourage them to improve their hygiene and sanitation practices and train them in pump maintenance and repair.

The charity’s whole-community approach means they are able to meet an urgent need in a way that is sustainable for future generations. Visit their website to read their latest blogs, case studies and photos.

By pledging to do a sponsored parachute jump you can raise money for Pump Aid and have the experience of a lifetime! Jumping from a perfectly serviceable aeroplane takes a good deal of courage. Just ask your friends, family and work colleagues how much they are prepared to pay not to jump out of an aircraft, and put that money to the cause!

Pump Aid recommends that you set up a page with Just Giving which allows friends and families to donate easily to your cause. Click on the link and follow the easy steps to create your page. Pump Aid asks you to pay the initial booking fee of £50 for your jump and then when you reach your fundraising target of £500 you can use part of this to pay for the remaining balance of your jump.

If you need any support or have any questions please get in contact with our Fundraising Coordinator, Emily by emailing emilygait@pumpaid.org or calling us on 0845 504 6972.
