In the final year of the First World War Centenary, The Royal British Legion is creating a movement to say thank you to the First World War generation- all who served, sacrificed and changed our world.

100 years ago, the war ended, and a new world began.    We will say Thank You to those people of all nations – not just those who fell on the battlefields, but those who played their part on the home front and those who returned to build a better life for generations to come.

In 1918, the Royal Air Force began to issue parachutes to its squadrons for the first time.  Mark the centenary of this significant moment which history would go on to recognise with the ultimate formation of the highly decorated Parachute Regiment and many other skilled and brave souls that fought and made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms’
